Our Family
David and Amy
David Smith is from King, North Carolina and grew up in Calvary Baptist Church of King. David received Jesus Christ as his personal Savior as a young man at the age of eight. Shortly after getting saved, God called David to preach and burdened his heart to share the Gospel with the people of New Zealand. David began his ministry training at Ambassador Baptist College. It was there he met his wife, Amy. Amy is from Marshalltown, Iowa and grew up in Fellowship Baptist Church of Marshalltown. Amy realized her need for a Savior one Sunday morning when she was nine years old. One of her Sunday school teachers took her to a side room and helped her receive Christ. She was baptized when she was thirteen along with her Mom and brother who had both recently trusted Christ. David and Amy met while receiving their ministry training at Ambassador Baptist College. They were married in December 2000.
David completed his ministry traiining at Calvary Baptist Bible College of King, NC in 2005. After completing his Bible training, David and Amy took a survey trip to pursue minstry in New Zealand. But God had other plans before their ministry in New Zealand would begin.
Elizabeth and Abigail
Andrew, Maryann and Sarah
David and Amy had been told they would not be able to have children, but after five years of marriage, God blessed them with twin daughters, Elizabeth and Abigail. They consider their daughters a true miracle and blessing from the Lord.
The Lord continued to grow David and Amy's family. Eighteen months after their twins were born, Andrew was born. And in 2011, Maryann was born into the family. After being in New Zealand for three years, Sarah Hoana was born in 2018. David and Amy consider each of their children a testimony of God's miracle-working power.
